Thesis Abstract
This thesis proposes a national rebranding strategy for Naoero (Nauru) as a first step in its transformation from a phosphate dependent economy to one oriented around sustainable tourism. The project focuses on creating a unified identity system, modernising public infrastructure, and aligning communication, signage, and safety protocols with Commonwealth standards. Through design, wayfinding, and strategic collaborations, the goal is to reposition Nauru as a culturally rich, accessible, and forward-looking destination while supporting long-term economic revitalization.
